• AI Processing: To send text content to OpenRouter API for translation and explanation

4. Data Processing with Third-Party AI Services

Important: When you request translations or explanations, the text content is sent to AI language models via OpenRouter API. This includes:

• Sentences from books you are reading
• Content from books you upload (Pro users)

OpenRouter processes this data according to their privacy policy. We do not control how OpenRouter or underlying AI model providers (e.g., Google, Anthropic) process your data. By using the Service, you consent to this data processing.

We recommend: Do not upload or translate content containing sensitive personal information, confidential business data, or other private information.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We share your information with third parties only as described below:

5.1 Service Providers

• OpenRouter: AI language models for translations and explanations
• Lemon Squeezy: Payment processing and subscription management
• Google: OAuth authentication and Analytics
• Resend: Transactional email delivery
• AWS S3: Storage of uploaded books (encrypted)

5.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

5.3 Business Transfers

If Paralelo is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owner.

• Account Data: Retained until you delete your account
• Uploaded Books: Retained until you delete them or close your account
• Usage Logs: Retained for up to 90 days for debugging and analytics
• Payment Records: Retained as required by tax and accounting laws
